Soulcalibur Legends for the Nintendo Wii, is a workout for the arm. This game uses the Wii remote for your sword and other weapons that other characters have at their disposal. You start off as Siegfried, who has a huge sword. You move around with the nunchuk and also block with the nunchuk Z button. The nunchuk C button is used for power up, when you play the game there are green orbs that the characters must collect to utilize their special attacks, these also build up during battles as well these tends to take longer. There are six characters that you can unlock. Some might be familiar Ivy- she has a whip sword, Astarotha- has a huge ax like weapon, Mitsurugi- has a sword, Sophitia- has a short sword and shield, Taki- has two small swords or dagger like weapons, and Lloyd Irving- has two swords. For the most part if you wave the Wii remote you swing their weapons and do damage to the enemies. Then if you tilt the nunchuk left or right you move in a strafing motion. If you pull the nunchuk towards you, the character will do a step back, (or should do a step back) I had some difficulty with this. Most of the moves that use the nunchuk without the thumb direction I had difficulty with and at times gotten frustrated. You can also push the nunchuk forward with the Wii remote to do other attacks, with each of the characters but it's sensitive and I believe timing is the key to this. So I tend to just use the thumb stick on the nunchuk and wave my arm around to get the characters to swing their weapons. On the Wii remote if you hit the bottom trigger button this will make the character jump and if you wave the Wii remote this will create at downward slash great for when the enemies are on the ground.
Most of the game play is running around a maze. For the most part most of the levels begin to look the same after awhile. It's fun for a while then I personally find it to get highly repetitive. I wish the person at Game Stop gave me more information about the game. I played the other Soulcalibur arcade games and thought it was going to be more of the arena battles, this is a brawl & hack n' slash type game for the most part. There are two major issues that I have with this game. The first is the camera this can be a big problem when going around corners. The other is once you die, you have to start the whole level over again. This can be a major problem because if you have to do this a few times your arm might get tried.
I would say to rent this one before you buy it. I payed $20.00 and I am not sure if I am going to finish it.
