Bad reception, no browser

Bought this phone for $100. Seemed like a good deal, make skype phone calls wherever there is WIFI. Then I find out that any wifi service that asks you to accept terms and conditions before using their service, (hotels, etc) WSKP100 will not connect to these. That's because there is no browser.
Also the reception is terrible. I can go to my garage with my wireless laptop (50 feet away from my router) and get 90% signal strength. Try that with WSKP100 phone and the 5 bar display drops down to 1 or sometimes 2 bars. It's completely useless at 2 bars or less because the calls have a lot of break-up and get dropped at that level. You need at least 3 bars to have phone call that has at least fair quality. And to get a 3 bar signal or better, you have to be very close to the source. I've noticed lots of gas stations and restaurants now have free wifi. I tested the WSKP100 at 4 of the places where I had been able to use my laptop with no problems right from my car in the parking lot. The WSKP100 worked at these places only if you walk inside the store. It would not work in the parking lot at any of these 4 places that I tested.
