When we first moved into our building, we found out that our desks were built in and we also found out that we didn't have a drawer to put things in like pens, pencils, paperclips and the like. We needed something that would organize our essentials and still leave room on the desk for the computer screen, phone and printer.
Going through the catalog of office supplies, we came upon the Rubbermaid Rotary Desk Supplies Organizer Without Supplies, 10 Dia. X 13-3/8H, Black (RUB25021) This sits on a ball-bearing base and spins in a 360 degree circle, clockwise or counter clockwise. Very smooth.
The bottom of the Rubbermaid Rotary Desk Supplies Organizer Without Supplies, 10 Dia. X 13-3/8H, Black (RUB25021) has five compartments where you can store loose things like paperclips, rubber bands, tacks and so forth. That way they are contained on one area and you don't have to go looking for them. At the bottom, there is a built-in tape dispenser. Makes it a little cumbersome to haul if you need it the tape in another room, but great when its sitting on your desk.
The second row from the bottom has deeper compartments where you can store items such as pens, pencils, markers and highlighters for ease of finding. The third section from the bottom, is a deep hole that will hold a couple pair of scissors, ruler, letter openers and the like so that they can be right at your finger tips when you are ready for them.
I must say, I wasn't sure how I would like this over a drawer that would hold the stuff, but I like it more than a drawer. Everything is easily accessible and you don't have to go digging for it. You just give the Rubbermaid Rotary Desk Supplies Organizer Without Supplies, 10 Dia. X 13-3/8H, Black (RUB25021) a slight spin and the item is right there in front of you.
I have had the Rubbermaid Rotary Desk Supplies Organizer Without Supplies, 10 Dia. X 13-3/8H, Black (RUB25021) on my desk for a little over four years and it is still spinning and dispensing tape without any trouble. I just wish this also came with a built in stapler so that I wouldn't have to have that sitting around.
All in all, this is worth the $20.00 that was paid for it. I would recommend the Rubbermaid Rotary Desk Supplies Organizer Without Supplies, 10 Dia. X 13-3/8H, Black (RUB25021) to anyone that wants to knock down desk clutter.
