The Royal js800 is a cheap shredder for minimum usage.

I purchased this shredder two years ago for $29.00 and have gotten a good value for the price. I use it an average of 4 times a week to shred receipts and junk mail. It is ideal for my home use as long as I don't get in a hurry and try to put more than three 20 lb. sheets in at a time. It tends to jam if heavier paper or more sheets are inserted at one time.

The wastebasket is small and needs to be emptied at the half full mark or the shredder will jam. (The jams are easy to unjam, but result in little shreds of paper all over the floor.)

Someone wanting a home shredder for light use would find this shredder adequate. I would not attempt to use it for more than light home shredding because it overheats and/or jams when used for more than 15 minutes at a time.

The simplicity of operating the js800 is a strength of this product. There is no need to study a manual. Simply place the shredding unit on the wastebasket, plug it in and shred. I would recommend this shredder for those of us that are technology impaired but realize the need to avoid identity theft.
