Author's Review
I bought this little dandy at the local drugstore. I intended mainly to shred light stuff: old bills, bank statements, nothing with staples or such. I thought it was save the trouble of having to tear or hand shred stuff.
I we got probably 1 full weeks use out of. My girl estimates we shredded a maxinum of 100 sheets of paper, then it started jamming. Once jammed it takes some 'surgery' with a tweezer to get bits of paper out of the mouth of the device. This operation seems to take a while, much longer than it would take for me to just tear the paper with my hands.
Now the blades seem to be permanently jammed. I put in a single sheet of paper, the motor whines then starts taking it. Then the paper pulls to one side or the other and a clean shred is not made.
This device isn't worth the plastic and metal it's made out of.
I would highly recommend against buying it. It's so fragile, and so difficult to unjam once jammed. It seems that one simple jam of paper, damages it to the point that is no longer useful.
I'm throwing it out along with the original receipts and bank statements I wanted to shred with it.
I would think twice before buying this device, or another from the same company. Royal, you'll have to do better.
