Product Review

No good

by   shimpk ,   Jun 3, 2005

Pros:  Lightweight

Cons:  Everything else

The Bottom Line:  Get a real iron instead.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

Mine takes forever to heat up, then the auto shut off seems to kick in before I can finish more than 2 or 3 items. Trying to steam something on a hangar is impossible. When it finally gets hot enough to give off good steam, you need to continually use "bursts" to really get the wrinkles out -- but it will only "burst" every 15-20 seconds. All in all, makes for a very long time to iron even a single garment, and at the end of that time and work, still not a *great* job of getting the wrinkles out -- more like just enough to make the garment passably wearable under most circumstances. I originally bought it because I had heard so many raves about Rowenta quality -- and I actually intend to give Rowenta another try, this time with a "real" iron. But this particular product is such a hassle + poor performer that I ususally just wear my stuff wrinkled (if going into a situation that can get away with that); or wear something else; or run the garment through the dryer for a few minutes. Oh, and the reservoir - how could I forget that? With normal handholding positions, it constantly slips off. So to the above, add having to hold it in an awkward position to keep the reservoir on.
