Sooooo much better than my old iron
Pros:
Polished stainless soleplate, plenty of steam, solid feel, even mist spray
Cons:
None so far
The Bottom Line:
This is a great iron, everything about it works flawlessly. If it wasn't $100, I probably would have gotten one earlier, but it's worth the price.

Author's Review
I put this iron on my wedding registry, figuring an upgrade from an old Sunbeam would be nice. Let me tell you, it actually makes me a more efficient ironer. The first thing I noticed about this professional series Rowenta was the polished stainless steel soleplate. It glides over fabrics so easily, its unbelievable. My old iron was scratched up, and just felt like I was dragging it across my clothes, but this unit glides with ease.
The second thing I noticed was how consistent the steam output is. No matter what setting I put this iron on, the steam comes out at a very even pace. The steam burst shoots a ton of steam and none of those little white particles that my old iron would shoot all over my clothes (usually black pants, as it were). Maybe its just because this is a new iron but it does come with cleaning instructions for how to keep from getting those white water deposits on the inside. Again, maybe its just because its new, but this iron puts out a LOT more steam than my other iron did but it wont put any steam out if the temperature of the iron isnt high enough. This is to prevent water from dripping out of the holes on the bottom of the iron and onto the clothes. I dont think most other irons have this dependency so again, its a better feature of a better iron.
Over after having used it a fair amount, I give this iron high marks. In addition to the things Ive mentioned above, it just feels solid. The water trigger button is very fluid, and shoots a very fine mist of water wherever I aim it. Other irons do nothing until the last millimeter of action, then they drizzle water in a random direction.
One thing this iron doesnt specifically have is the multitude of steam holes right near the tip. Other Rowenta irons do have this, and I almost switched to one of these but considering the amount of steam and other great features that this iron does have, Im glad this is the one I ended up with.
