The quintessential Cuban Churchill |
|||
|
Pros: Legendary churchill - fantastic flavor, smooth and powerful, highly consistent for a cuban (still)
Cons: Pricey, plenty of counterfeits, occasionaly a rough cap
The Bottom Line: Timeless, unmistakable - even at this low-point in Cuban cigar production, the Romeo Churchill still posseses the qualities which drew us to Cubans to begin with
Review: It was only a matter of time until I wrote this one...I figure it's Valentines Day, so what better day to write a review about the Churchill I love soooo much. Despite of all the recent Cuban-bashing I've done (rightly so, I might add) there are certain...

Pros: Great allrounder, not too pricey, plenty of prestige, GREAT CIGAR
Cons: NONE!, I don't have more of them
Review: Where does one start when reviewing a cigar among the very best of Cuba's many fine offerings. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these as a gift from a wealthy uncle who knew of my love of fine cigars. The Romeo Y Julieta Churchill is perhaps...

Pros: Excellent taste, shape, and construction
Cons: Availability and cost
Review: This classic cigar has to be one of the best. Since my passion for cigars began some 9 years ago, I suppose that I haven't had a better vitola. For starters, it comes in the pristine silver tube that is a sight for sore eyes. Upon opening the tube,...

Pros: Good flavor and aroma, protected by a tube.
Cons: Extremely poor draw, ridiculously overpriced, the ever present uncertainty of authenticity.
The Bottom Line: The extremely poor draw of this cigar made it unsmokable. Buyer beware. It is estimated that up to 90% of all Cubans bought by Americans are out and out fakes!
Review: I have learned from experience not to save a supposedly special cigar for a special occasion, for I am usually disappointed. In keeping with that theory I picked an ordinary night at home to try my very first Cuban cigar, a Romeo y Julieta...

A well made cigar with an oily wrapper. The draw is a bit firm. The smoke is tangy, with some sweet cedar notes.
