Author's Review
Romantic Homes Magazine is one of my favorite magazines to browse. I don't have a lot of time for decorating or redecorating but I enjoy looking through this magazine each month. The pictures are nice and this magazine is great for giving you new ideas. We are planning to move in a couple of years (hopefully sooner) and I enjoy looking at this magazine for future ideas for my new home.
The best asset of this magazine in my opinion are without a doubt the color photographs. They are very crisp and clear giving you a good insight to the rooms. You can see details of placement of decorating items such as baskets, pillows, what-nots, window furnishings and furniture. The color photographs make the rooms look very inviting!
Each monthly issue is usually around 100 pages or slightly less. I find that this is a great coffee table magazine. It is a great magazine for browsing but has limited helpful advice.
The next feature I enjoy is the variety of ideas this magazine presents. From the name, Romantic Homes Magazine, you would think this is a magazine filled with frills. It is not. It features monthly decorating ideas for casual settings, Victorian, formal, country, and even more specific ideas for children's rooms such as a Princess Room for little girls. I also remember seeing an article on transforming the bride-to-be's bedroom into a frilly romantic anticipation of the bid day.
Romantic Homes Magazine also has feature articles on Do-It-Yourself projects. Here you will find ideas on simple things to transform a room quickly. Most are not very expensive and easy to do. The last issue focused on using slipcovers to change a room's look. You can purchase these ready made or make your own. Here again, many styles are available and depending on the route you take you can dress a room up or down. They show how to use a plain drop cloth to give a room a crisp look yet very inviting. You can dress this up with some floral accessories for a country look. Using patterned material and a gathered skirting gives a more formal look.
Articles
Most of the articles in Romantic Homes Magazine are short and quick reads. You can also find advice on where to purchase decorating needs, information on antiques and collectables and even an occasional recipe.
Advertisements
This is another thing I really like about this magazine. All of the advertisements are reserved for the very back of the magazine, front and back covers and opening page. If you want to see ads, go to this section which is called Market Center.
Subscription Rates
Subscription Rates to Romantic Homes Magazine are $26.95 for one year in the US and $38.95 in Canada.

My Thoughts And Recommendation
I enjoy this magazine and the different ideas it presents for decorating any room in your home. Each month there is a variety of themes for a variety of rooms. If you are moving to a new home or simply wanting to change a room or rooms in your home, give this magazine a shot. You will find lots of good ideas, and some do-it-yourself projects. I give Romantic Homes Magazine 4.5 Stars.
