Author's Review
I am a mom of two kids who bought this game with their own money. I really did not "get it" before they bought it. However, now that they bought it, I get it. It is a really fun way for us all to spend time together. We all take turns singing, playing the drums, and playing either guitar or bass. The best thing is that each player can set their own difficulty level (easy, medium, hard or expert) individually and so we can each play our own level at the same time, making it more fun for different ages and abilities playing together. My kids have their friends come over and play, they are learning rhythm and pitch. Of course it is mostly rock songs from the 70s, so that makes it fun for me, songs I heard growing up! I find how it can be a fun challenge, since you get a score at the end of each song (a percentage of notes gotten correctly) so you will want to better your own score or beat your fellow musicians.
I do wish it came with an extra guitar so we could play all four parts at once (guitar, bass, drums, and microphone) with the included equipment you do have to choose bass or guitar. You can however purchase one separately.
Beware it is rated teen because there are some "bad words" in some of the lyrics.
