Author's Review
Well, our little girl has grown up and has moved on from her Storkcraft Baby Crib! It is a bit sad for us but she loves her new big kid bed so we just have to deal with it. We used the crib with our daughter for about 2 and a half years. I don't really have much bad to say about it. It's a very basic, no frills crib. Nothing too fancy or elaborate, but it always served us well.
Some have used the word "flimsy" to describe it and I can't really argue with that, although it held up to everything that my daugther could try (including lots of jumping up and down!). The finish did get a bit scratched up after 2 years--you can definitely see a difference compared to when we first got it. As I recall, assembly wasn't too bad. The instructions weren't great but it didn't take too long to get it together. The drawer at the bottom of the crib is a great feature, BUT we could not figure out how to get it on so it just kind of sat there. Others have mentioned the same problem so if that is one of the reasons you are going for this crib, think twice. The slide rail worked fine, never had problems with it. Although we discovered we simply didn't use it much. We were so focused on finding a crib with a reliable sliding rail when we were crib shopping but it turns out it just wasn't something that was all that important. Lowering the crib wasn't a problem either. Pretty simple to do.
While this is a convertible crib we never bothered trying to convert it. It's not really a problem with the crib, we just couldn't be bothered and decided to get a twin bed for her. Our original intention was definitely to convert it to a bed but we just didn't bother.
Overall, as I said, this crib served us well. It's nothing that is going to earn rave reviews but if you're looking for an affordable, reliable crib I would recommend this one for sure.
