Caught on FIRE!!!!!

Today I put 4 pieces of toast in on one of the lightest toast settings.  If you put anything on any higher/longer setting, the food BURNS UP!!!  Also, even when you put it on the lighest setting just to get a regularaly and even sometimes burnt piece of food out of the toaster oven, the toast timer would often times not 'ding' and/or turn off and continue cooking.  And if you don't stand next to the toaster oven to manually turn it off when things are toasted, you can bet you will have to throw away whatever was in there and start over.  This happened today.  I looked over and flames were shooting out of the toaster oven.  HATE this appliance and have since the first day we got it (Christmas 2008).  It hasn't worked properly since the first use.  One bagel would be toasted fine and the one next to it would be scorched.  Thought I'd give it a try since it was a gift and am regretting it now that I'm having to wipe fire extinguisher dust off of everything in my kitchen.  Looked up recalls and came across this.  Thought I'd save everyone the trouble.  DON'T BUY THIS ITEM!!!  It is a danger to you and your home!  Very unsafe.
