Pros: Easy to use and clean, affordable.
Cons: No "Overboil protection" or "Off" switch.
The Bottom Line: A convenient way to heat up beverages, and some canned goods. Just remember to unplug it.
If it had an "Off" switch I would have given this a better rating.
Review: Ok so now its a couple of weeks past Christmas and some of us have a small pile of stuff we wonder if we will ever use. I received the Rival 4071-WN Electric Kettle and while its the thought that counts, I never thought Id use this ...

Pros: Easy to use, Easy to clean, Quick boiling
Cons: Short power cord
The Bottom Line: No college dorm room should be without one. It is the perfect appliance for college kids with late night appetites.
Review: Even though most college campuses dont allow it, an electric kettle (or hotpot) is almost a necessary part of the college experience. The hotpots main purpose is to heat water or other liquids such as coffee or tea. Over the years though, students have ...

Pros: Heats quickly, holds lots of water, and more convenient than heating via a pan.
Cons: No off/on switch, gets too hot sometimes.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this electric kettle if you plan on making hot drinks, or need to heat up water quickly while you are still in the room.
Review: I started using the Rival electric kettle a few months ago because I was an incoming college student, and didn't have a microwave to put in my dorm. At first, I didn't think I would use it because I figured I would just cook using a pot and a stove. ...

Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Cord gets in way of cleaning; no timer/alarm; settings make no sense
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend the Electric Kettle because it is just as easy to boil water in the microwave.
Review: I received a Rival Hot Pot electric kettle as a gift from a friend about a week ago. In that week, I have used it probably three times. The product gets the job done; however, I admit that it is probably not something I would have purchased for myself ...
