motor overheats in less than 2 minutes

I found this item at a local Ace hardware. I was impressed with the stated motor power. This item was a replacement for an old Wal-Mart freezer that we had for more than fifteen years. The purchase price for the old freezer was maybe $40. With young kids around, we used the freezer. The darn thing finally just wore out. I have used the White Mountain unit twice in two summers. The third attempt was a complete bust. The motor overheated in less than two minutes and the churning stopped. Multiple attempts to let the motor cool did not solve the problem. Cooling the motor allowed for another less than two minutes of churning time. After multiple attempts, I finally gave up. I was surprised to learn that the five year limited warranty applies only to the bucket. That's really swell! I hope that pine can make it! The telephone service rep would not give a repair location as stated in the warranty information. My only option was to buy a new motor for $87, then $65.25 when I hesitated. I think I will look at other options before I commit. Do I need a $300 ice cream freezer with a bad track record?
