Bad design and worse customer service
Pros:
Attractive design and, overall, it does cook well.
Cons:
Poor customer service.
The Bottom Line:
I'd be hesitant to buy future Rival products based on the poor customer service I encountered.

Author's Review
I received this and another crock pot as gifts a number of years ago. Thankfully I kept both because of their difference in size.
Within a year the stoneware insert cracked while cooking food for a party. While the company gladly sent me a replacement, their customer service declined quickly thereafter when I discovered a recall on my particular model. The handles, it seemed, cracked, creating a safety hazard as they could break while a hot crock pot was being transported. I researched the recall guidelines, followed the directions the company provided and sent in the necessary information (which included cutting off the electric plug and mailing it as proof my model was effected). I was promised a new crock pot within six to eight weeks, which came and went. When I called to inquire about my replacement, I was told the company had no record of my paperwork. The representative I spoke with promised to have someone look into it. I never heard back. Six phone calls later, they finally put me in touch with a manager who, once again, promised to send me a replacement. A replacement arrived a short time later, but it was a smaller version of my original slow cooker.
