First thing, why is the picture of Revolt? This is about Ridge Racer 64, not revolt... Well anyway, Ridge Racer is no mere port of the Playstation game. Heck, its almost 3 games in one- you can adjust the drift and car collision to match those of these three RR games: Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer Revolution, or Ridge Racer 64(not revolt). Plus, it features over 20 cars and 8 tracks.
RR64 is definitely a contender for best racer on the N64. The graphics fly by free of the pop-up or fog problems that are in most other racers. The game doesn't even need an expansion pak. As for control, it is dead-on depending on which drift you choose. Sim fans will love RR64 settings, while other "Lets play now" arcade racers will prefer RR and RRR, that's too many R's huh? Its the first must-have racing title of 2000.
By the way, my ears still are amazed.
