Total body workout

Sweatin to the Oldies 2 is my favorite Richard Simmons exercise video. I first became aware of Richard and his Deal-A-Meal program in 1986 (UGH I'm getting old !!) My brother used Deal-A-Meal and Sweatin to the Oldies 2 to lose about 75 pounds. I was skinny then (ha ha ha) and didn't use this video until 1995-96 after the birth of my second child. Wow, did the inches come off. I actually had a waist !! I lead an aerobics/exercise club at my church On Saturday mornings. I started the class with this tape because it eases you into action. You can adjust your activity level easily. Its easy to make it a low or high impact aerobic workout.

The music really gets you motivated. My kids even like to dance with Richard. We always like to watch the ending credits to motivate ourselves by seeing how much weight the people in the video have lost. I've tried other aerobic videos... Tae Bo, Denise Austin, Jane Fonda.. but I like this volume of Sweatin' because it really does give you a total body workout. It starts out with a song to get you motivated and then moves in to a warm-up. After that you dive right into a great but NOT a "I'm never gonna make it" aerobic workout. Just when you reach the point that you are thinking "come on Richard, you are killing me" LOL the aerobic portion of the video is over.

I think my favorite aspect of this video is that it also includes toning exercises for your upper body and arms plus, your legs and abs. Some of his other videos do not include this. The Richard Simmons Dance Your Pants Off does not include a toning segment like that. Although the music is great in "Dance Your Pants Off", I am just not as satisfied as I am with Sweatin to the Oldies 2. Buy it, use it... watch those pounds and inches come off !!!!!
