My parents bought Sweating to the Oldies 2 a long time ago, and it just sort of stayed in the video cabinet - used only a few times, if that at all. I've recently started watching what I eat and exercising. I was getting bored of always doing taebo, so I popped this tape into the vcr, figuring I'd breeze right through it. Well, I was wrong..I actually did sweat, wow!
I started off doing it a little embarrased, but no one was home - and I knew my dog wouldn't tell anyone, so I figured why not. Amazingly enough, I had fun..while exercising! Can you believe that? Richard is also sort of funny to watch, well, because of "you know." Anyway, for a girl who isn't much of an oldies fan..I really liked the songs. They're upbeat and just make you want to work-out, even if you never thought you'd ever say that out loud. Richard also happens to be a good motivator, sometimes it seemed as if he was talking to me, and he was what kept me going through the parts where all I wanted to do was stop, sit down, and just breathe.
In Sweating to the Oldies 2, there is a warm up, then a 25 minute low impact aerobic segment with an abs workout, an arms workout, and then a cool down. Some of the songs include Respect, Fever, and Jailhouse Rock, along with many other older songs that are great.
My favorite thing about all of Richard's videos is that not everyone is 5'10 and 120 lbs - these are real people, some of whom have weight problems. It's nice to see that, it just is. At the end of the video, they have a small segment showing the names of the people in the video, as well as how much weight they've lost - that in itself can be a great motivator!
This video is great for people who aren't used to exercising, or might have certain joint problems - it's basically low-impact, which means it won't hurt your joints much. It's also a good video for people who want to alternate between high and low impact videos on different days. No matter what your current level of fitness is, this video is bound to help you lose weight, get in shape, and feel good about yourself.
