Good looks - works well

by   dhmagician ,  Aug 23, 2006
Pros: Great looks. Works very well. Variable settings.
Cons: Can't complain of a thing - I love Delonghi appliances.
Review: I bought this grinder off of ebay to match my Delonghi espresso maker. It's a perfect size and has a reservoir to hold the beans. It's very easy to "click" to the desired setting and the smell of fresh ground beans is great in the morning. ...

Bad design. Clogs with every use.

by   zigzagmolly ,  Dec 11, 2005
Pros: None. Save another $30-40 and get a Capresso Infinity
Cons: Clogs, clogs, clogs. Too many fines. Requires cleaning after every use.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this grinder. It will not give you consistent coffee grounds and will cause you a lot of work.
Review: I purchased this grinder for my first "burr grinder". It didn't take long to see it's flaws. The lid to the grounds container has an insert that lets you close the lid. Unfortunately, during grinding it blows grounds right into this insert and they get ...

Espresso? NOT!

by   stelliger ,  Jul 5, 2007
Pros: Aesthetic design, retractable cord
Cons: NO FINE grind, clogging, noise, inconsistent grind, bad timer
The Bottom Line: It's pretty sitting on your counter and might make a nice paperweight. Just don't expect an espresso grind out of it.
Review: When I received this grinder, I was initially impressed with features like the retractable cord, the appearance and the overall design for the price. It did not have the feel of a quality unit per se but it seemed in line with the price. THEN - I ...

Not to DeLonghi's usual standard

by   old_prop ,  Aug 21, 2006
Pros: Burr-type grinder, distinctive styling, integral cord reel, bottom-heavy design.
Cons: Fine powder ground out at any setting. Almost impossible to keep clean.
The Bottom Line: Sorry, but I can't recommend this model. Too hard to clean.
Review: For years I regularly enjoyed a lot of coffee, then backed off because I decided I was ingesting just too much caffeine. I gave away my beloved old Braun grinder as part of going cold turkey. Now, some four years later, having decided life without at ...

sits in the basement now...

by   gerbera82 ,  Sep 18, 2006
Pros: Looks pretty, especially with matching Delonghi appliances.
Cons: Clogs almost every time. Loose lid creates even bigger mess.
Review: I liked my old Delonghi grinder and espresso machine, which led me to buy this product. I wanted a more even grind than from my blade grinder. This burr grinder clogs almost every time I use it. Also, the lid on top is completely loose--you cannot ...

Not Up to Standard

by   patrol007 ,  Jul 31, 2006
Pros: Good looks, good storage.
Cons: Not acceptable for espresso.
Review: I bought this grinder for use in making espresso. I had a cheap Braun before, and it ground the beans fine enough for my espresso machine. Not so for this machine. On the very finest setting the coffee came out coarse, not acceptable at all for making ...
