A great sequel! I'm sorry.It's just the way it is.

Overview:
Yes,the sloppy,crappy and stupid original has a sequel.But why are you frowning?This sequel is way better than the first!More action,Milla being a bad a**,better cast(although I do miss Michelle Rodriguez..she's pretty) and a new horror villian besides the damn zombies,dogs and lickers-Nemesis(yes the big guy with the rocket launcher from the PS1 game-Resident Evil3).Well you heard the overview..now read the review.

Story:
If you haven't seen the first Resident Evil,then you must see it in order to enjoy this whole movie.Yes,sadly you have to watch the first.I went through the pain to watch the first;but trust me-IT'S WORTH IT!Anyway the story is really lame folks but the action makes up for it.Raccoon City has been infected by the T-Virus which turns people into living zombies.It'll turn anything to zombies,even dogs!
Alice(Milla) is leaving the "hospital" and is walking the streets.She finds a shotgun and cocks it.Then thats the end of Resident Evil.But now Resident Evil2 has picked right after that.She goes into a gun shop and she manages to find clothes.But we do know she finds guns!
Meanwhile,the Umbrella Corporation has shut every exit in town down.The only way out is through a bridge that is heavily guarded by soldiers.The residents are at the bridge and have to wait a long time for the soldiers to check them if they have been bitten.Trust me,it's a long wait for the people in the back!Anyway,a dad turns into a zombie and the Umbrella Corporation closes the bridge because they didn't want any other people that has been bitten to release their virus to the whole world.So now the residents are trapped in Raccoon City.It's a conspiracy.The residents go crazy and the soldiers shoot at the residents to go back to their homes.
Meanwhile,Umbrella also traps their the S.T.A.R.S. and some of the Umbrella members.Talk about what teammates they are!
Meanwhile,some of the S.T.A.R.S. members and two residents hideout in a church.You will notice that the S.T.A.R.S. members are based on the first videogame and the third videogame that are on PS1.Well,let me tell you a little secret about the church:It has lickers!The team of S.T.A.R.S. and two residents must battle their way through them to make it a safer place.Well,they try and they fail.All of a sudden,here comes a motorcycle through the huge stained glass that is in the church and the woman on the bike(Milla) defeats the lickers in a matter of seconds.There,all the S.T.A.R.S.,one resident and Milla join together to fight hell that arrived in Raccoon City.So there,the team leaves the church and goes into the city beating the hell out of the zombies.
Meanwhile,they are being watched by a highly-needed scientist.The team gets in touch with him by the scientist calling them from the nearby pay-phones.He wants to make a deal:Find his daughter out of Raccoon City who is hiding out in a public school.And then he'll provide via helicopter which will help them to escape.Sounds easy?Well it may sound easy but they have around forty-some minutes to find her in a pretty big school.Will they find her and escape Raccoon City or will they be eaten alive by zombies,zombie dogs or worse-get their a** tore up by the Nemesis?

Cast/Acting:
Resident Evil: Apocalypse has a damn good cast.The acting is good but sometimes some of the cast sounds like they just want to hurry up and do their part so they can go onto the next scene.Point is;it sounds like they are just reading the script.Their emotions to the scenes weren't there.Although,some pulled it off fine,while others failed badly.Milla Jovovich is better than all of the cast.She has a nice tone to the film and she revises her role in the first one by being a bad a** in this once unlike her role in the first.

Gore:
Gore was pretty much here but I do think that the first movie had a tad bit more gore.Please,don't let that turn you off!Resident Evil: Apocalypse isn't all about gore now.The action keeps this movie interesting and entertaining.

Scary Things Happen In Raccoon City:
The scares are here and they are tense.When Jill Valentine goes into a room where a "old lady" is sitting in a chair with her back towards Jill.Jill walks in front of her and...Well I'm not going to say anymore because I want you to see that shocker!The sound when the scares comes add the tone where you are really tense and don't know what will happen next.

Special Effects:
The make-up of the zombies,dogs,lickers and the Nemesis are pretty well creative and more gruesome compared to the first movie.The zombies have a more darker make-up,the dogs have better make-up than the first,the lickers' make-up is great.You can't really tell that they are fake compared to the first movie and the new monster in this sequel is the Nemesis.He has pretty good make-up but sometimes you can tell it's just a mask.Also,the stunts look good too.When Alica is jumping off a building and is running down it,it looks really good.

Sound:
The sound in this good sequel is mind-blowing,literally!When things get intense,the music is totally there to make you really tense.Also,the sound effects when things crash or whatever you have in here,are great.It makes you feel that you are right there when all this crashing or whatever is going on.Point is,the sound makes the scenes tense!

Overall Thoughts:
Resident Evil: Apocalypse is a great sequel to watch.It has everything that you'd want in a sequel and it gives you extra also!The action is frequent and tense.The special effects are great;they don't look too fake.The sound adds a scary tone to the move.You more stunts?Well you got it!The stunts look terrific and are very creative.The scares are rare but when they come on,you'll be like Whoa!.The new monster(Nemesis) is great and is believable and like-able.
I did see a few flaws in this sequel.The plot is kinda stupid and lame.It is very unforgiving but at least its way better than the first movie's plot.I did see that only three scenes showed the Nemesis.I was very disappointed.I'd want to see more of him but I guess I didn't.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse is a great sequel.It will certainly give the fans of the original,fans of the genre or just fans of the videogames, a great time.
