Author's Review

We’ve noticed that a couple of our bedrooms just aren’t as cool as the rest of the house. The main reason is because we have no shade (yet) on the front of our home, so the sun beats down all day. Knowing that the ceiling outlets are not designed to facilitate a ceiling fan in these rooms, we opted for purchasing a floor fan. However, we wanted something that was unobtrusive, and quiet, since these are bedrooms.

Some assembly required
A small gripe in this department, purely my own problem, the picture and wording are quite small. Sure, it is only three parts to assemble, but a little larger picture and better description would have been helpful. Really all that is required is to snap together the mounting base and insert three small screws. After a bit of swearing it only took about 5 minutes to assemble. The remote control operates on 2 AAA batteries, not included.

Bells and whistles
First you must learn their schematic, as there are no actual words printed on the fan itself. All controls are graphic. Buttons include: On/Off; Speed selection (slow, medium, high); Timer selection (incremented in ½ hour segments up to 7-½ hours); Oscillation; Wind selection (normal, natural, sleeping). The function keys are the same on the remote control. An LED panel lets you know what mode you are currently using.

Alohabreeze Tower Fan, likes/dislikes
I like the oscillating feature of this fan and its compact size. It’s about 3-½ feet tall, base 8”. I also like the fact that it has several wind speeds and a remote control and timer. Come on …

It is extremely quiet, perfect for sleeping unless you are one of those people that like the sound of a fan to help you sleep.

Even on the high setting, it isn’t as harsh or ‘paper destructive’ as a normal fan, so you could easily use it in a home office without having your paperwork scattered throughout the room.

Cleaning is very nice, a damp cloth keeps the outer surface shiny and a little help from the vacuum hose keeps the interior cat hair free.

The holes aren’t large enough for small fingers to venture inside and investigate. I can’t say the same for children that like to poke things in small holes. I’m sure that if they were determined enough, they could slide something through the slots to the blades. However, the blades are plastic, not metal.

It requires no lubrication for the life of the fan, as it is permanently lubricated. Ever have one of those ceiling fans that started to whine on you? Aggravating isn’t it?

Limited three year warranty. For the first 12 months, they will repair and/or replace (at their option) the fan at no charge to you, except your cost to ship it back to them. After that, it is $25 per unit. Hey, I only paid $27 for it, let it go.

So far I’ve determined no dislikes for this unit. It performs well, supplies a variety of breeze selections, is neat and compact, and at $27, it’s a cool deal.
