Pros:
Light, good price.
Cons:
Not as close of a shave as I would like, without gymnastics.
The Bottom Line:
If you can buy it at a good price, it will provide an average electric shave. I would not pay top dollar for it.

Author's Review
Sometimes, I amaze myself! After 13 years of using a wonderful Braun electric razor, with minimal maintenance, and a high quality shave, it bit the dust. The motor was getting "whirry" plus the screen was "chipped". I took it in for a repair and it would cost more to repair than it was worth. The shaver repair department suggested it is time for a new replacement. With all the luck I had with the Braun, I went out to buy a.......Remington Titanium Microflex R-950! Go Figure!
After six months of use, I have to say the shaver/electric razor is pretty average. It is nothing spectacular but nothing terrible, either. The model R-950 is cord or cordless, I use the cordless as it does recharge quickly. It can fully recharge in less than two hours, so an over night plug in can take care of a weeks worth of shaves. A five minute plug in provides enough charge for a single shave. A negative is the plug is tight. It is hard to push into the shaver. Other than that, the battery holds a charge well.
The shaver is comfortable, light to hold. While the rotary blades were the reason for the purchase, the lightness of the machine is also a nice touch. It is aluminum, titanium light, easy to mover around your face.
The titanium cutting system with three rotary blades, provides a very close shave, surprisingly so. It does take some getting used to, as the technique is different. With a rotary, for the best shave, all three heads should touch the face together. Holding the shaver so only one or two heads touch the face causes terrible skin irritation and unbelievable redness as I did experiment thinking I knew better. Keep all three heads on the skin! Use short strokes which works much better than long honkin' ones. To get the real close whiskers, use free hand to stretch the skin tight and poof! You're done! The rotary blades provides a close shave with this technique.
As with all electrics, this model comes with a sideburn trimmer. It pops up, works well, provides a straight cut of the sideburns. It also, if you have one, trims your mustache. The trimmer provides a nice clean, straight cut.
The blade case pops out for cleaning, easy to clean with a brush or a tap. I would not recommend blowing onto the whisker storage as they come flying back in your face with a vengeance. Cleaning with the brush is easy, keeps the blades sharp, too. However, this model cannot be rinsed. Make sure the cutter retainers are properly aligned, head assembly can pushed back on after cleaning. If I can do it, so can you. Trust me.
It comes with a small, pretty lame vinyl carrying case and a small cleaning brush. I purchased the Remington on sale, $54.99 which also included a $15 store gift card. (OK, so I went cheap!)Shop around for the best deal, it was listed for $69 on the internet sites to the $54 plus gift card, a savings of nearly $30.
It works! While its performance to me is not a must have, it does provide a close shave, easy to clean, and is portable. For that, I give it a rating of average. Thank you for reading!
