Remington Let-down

I purchased the Remington R450s in order to get back into electric razors (after almost 15 years of blade razors). Hoping/assuming that the technology had progressed enough (yep - I bought into the typical advertising hype) to sufficiently improve on the quality, I decided on this model based on the features and price. As it turns out, I got exactly what I payed for - a cheap razor that under-performs at the one function I was looking for - shaving.

The razor only operates on battery power - it won't even turn on while plugged in. Once fully charged, the motor/blades are just too slow to shave with. The side trimmer functions fairly well. The on/off button seams reasonably well-placed, and the overall shape of the razor isn't bad either. I was impressed, though with a more user-friendly shaving head - it flips open to allow you to rinse it out with running water (although given the price I wouldn't trust that the electric motor is sealed well enough - just an opinion on this).

If you're considering moving back to an electric (or looking to replace an existing older model), you'll be much better off taking the money that you would have spent on the R450s into a better performing model.
