Little silver paperweight
Date of Review: Mar 30, 2002
The Bottom Line: It's cheap, but at least mine didn't work at all.
I don?t really like writing negative reviews, but sometimes that?s just what you?ve got to do. In a nut shell, this trimmer didn?t work.
I picked it up at Target for $15, and immediately plugged it in to let it charge up for 24 hours before giving it a try. It seemed pretty weak, but I managed to do a little shaping of my goatee. After a while I got frustrated and put it down. Part of my frustration had come from fiddling with the somewhat complicated attachments. I didn?t really hold that against the trimmer though, because that was a one time problem: I wasn?t expecting to have to deal with it again once I figured it out.
The next morning, however, the poor little machine was even weaker. I thought that perhaps the night before I had not reseated the device in its charger, so I carefully placed it back and made sure it was charging when I left. The next morning it was dead, dead, dead.
I?ve been meaning to send this back to the factory for an exchange or a refund, but that?s really a pain. I suspect I will end up just replacing it with another brand instead. In the mean time, I?m back to scissors.
I wish I could write more detail, but it just didn?t work, and there?s only so much you can say about something that is functional only as a paper weight.
Let me try: It sits still very well. It?s silver, and not unattractive. It's fairly heavy for its size, so it would not move easily (good as a paper weight), but it doesn't stand up on its own, so it will roll around a bit (bad as a paper weight).
