Author's Review
It was time for packing things up.. You can accumulate a lot of things over seventeen years, and when you finally move, sometimes it takes a while to find which box is hiding the goodies.
Such was the case with the beard groomer. Where was my trusty Wahl 9916? And that VCR remote.
It will turn up sooner, I know it will.. A week passes. Now it is decision time. Should I buy another beard trimmer, or just try to fade that Karsten Solheim (god rest his soul) look? I have the gray and am developing the Solheim body, but I decided I would maintain the well groomed goatee.
But, being as I have a shaver somewhere, I decide to go for an inexpensive trimmer and find the Remington PG-200. Only $20, so I am pleased with the price.
After extricating it from it's plastic sarcophagus I noticed it also comes with a nose and ear hair trimmer. Now in my forties, this has become a more interesting feature than when my beard was black. I am sure I will be more impressed with the ear hair trimmer in the next decade.
I have also opted for the buzz cut instead of the swoop over haircut for balding men. I can now walk in any direction and not be concerned that a breeze will unseat my comb over. The Remington comes with an attachment which has higher settings. These seemed to work well with my short hair for a touch up, but I will leave the overall job to those with a license on the wall.
The day after I bought it, my jealous Wahl turned up.
In summary, the Remington has good attachments, but seems a bit low in power compared to the Wahl. At $20.00 it is a great buy and I am now not sure who will back up who in the rotation.
Now, anyone have any idea where that VCR remote is?
