Beard Trouble? Give this a try!
Date of Review: Nov 10, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you have a light beard, and are in need of a trimmer, you should buy.
The Remington PG-250 Electric Shaver seems to be getting crap from the public these days. But I have nothing but good thing to say about this trimmer. Normally my brother doesn't even bother to get me a Christmas present, but this past season we went shopping together. As a result, I saw this trimmer, and as I have recently grown a bit of a beard I recommended he buy it for me. I gave it a try Christmas morning, and I must say I wasn't at all disappointed.
As a trimmer, this thing works great. It is cordless, which was a huge plus to me, just in general I hate things with excess cords, and I imagine the public shares my disdain. So I felt very comfortable maneuvering this thing around my face. I found the actual shaving abilities of the razor to perform quite nicely. However, everyone's beard is different, and some people might find the device to be a little weak. This is definantly not a large beard trimmer, but for my situation (chinstrap, goatee, area) I found it to be incredibly useful.
Another thing I liked was the fact that charge is long lasting. I think the last time I charged the thing was like a month ago, and it is still going strong. I dislike the hassle of always plugging the thing in, and this way I don't have to clutter up my outlet with another constant plug, I can just pull the charger out when it becomes necessary. And it also charges quickly, I couldn't say for sure how fast, but I know that it takes less than half an hour to charge completely.
Also the attachments are nice to have around. I am a large fan of the nose-ear trimmer. I also think the carrying case is nifty, though be it a little cumbersome.
All in all a good trimmer, depending on your particular beard. So don't dismiss it right away, because it is a good trimmer for a good price if it's right for you!
