Author's Review
If I had one magazine to choose over all the others to subscribe to it would be Redbook hands down. I say this because it is ageless in that it doesn't stereotype any particular age group, yet is definitely a woman's magazine. Like the cover indicates, it's about how to better balance your life-- with your family, in the workplace, in your love life, and also how to make time for yourself in the process.
There is usually a celebrity on every catchy cover and I usually get it for $1.00 an issue for a 12 month subscription. The price doesn't get much better than that, but besides Redbook's economic value, this magazine is truly an interesting, informative and helpful publication.
Each month there is usually an in depth interview with a celebrity. Then, of course, there are the usual topics found in many magazines on beauty, fashion, style, food, and health and fitness. But Redbook dedicates several articles to love and married life as well, as to raising kids and advice on handling certain situations one may encounter when becoming a parent.
Redbook is so filled with great articles and tried and true tips that you won't want to skip a page. I particularly look forward to reading the monthly Red Alert OB/gyn which always discusses common female problems and cures. Red Alert Body & Mind offers tips on well being for the body, as well as your mental health. Under News & Features I have never found an article that was not well researched and not published in a way to draw your attention in, such as 20 WAYS TO LOVE THE LIFE YOU HAVE: The grass is not always greener on the other side or The Hidden Health Threat That Puts Every Woman At Risk.
Many times the cover will highlight some of the most interesting topics found in the magazine, but I have found most of the articles are beneficial to read and insightful for one reason or another.
Usually there are true life inspirational stories in every issue. I personally look forward to the time saving delicious recipes, which reflect the time of year, such as the latest issue's grilled eggplant or grilled chicken recipes. The photos of the prepared dishes are extremely enticing, and the simple recipes are a breeze to follow, another way of allowing more time in our days.
Redbook is a sophisticated, thoroughly modern, beneficial magazine. I recommend it highly to anyone who has a life and is always looking for ways to enhance and improve it.
