Author's Review
Guitar Hero is one of those games by an almost unknown developer and becomes a huge hit. Guitar Hero was developed by guitar players for people who don't necessarily need to play the guitar and is my personal favorite music game of all time.
Gameplay 10/10
Like most music video games, practice makes perfect, and to get somewhat good at this game, you need to practice a lot, just as you would a real guitar. The gameplay works just like it should, on the screen you see 5 circles at the bottom, as the song goes on, of course the guitar starts to go, you have to hit the right button and strum the "strings" at the right time as the circle that is falling down, passes by the button on the bottom. It plays almost identical to games such as Dance Dance Revolution, only there is a guitar. When hitting a sequence of buttons at the right time that are blue with lightning in them, you get star power which you can release when your rock meter is down. Your rock meter goes up when you are doing good and goes down when you are doing bad. When the meter goes to the very bottom, you have to restart the song.
Your first time playing it, you probably are going to do really bad and are going to want to practice a lot more to get better. You gradually get better at the game just like any other game, and after many hours of practice on this game, I can play just about any song on the expert difficulty.
There is a lot in this game for people who are into the rock genre. The game features a lot of 80s rock and during the loading sequences, it tells you some comedic phrazes that people who are into this genre will probably understand such as, "11 is louder than 10."
There are a lot of songs and to unlock more songs, you have to play through the career mode. The career mode really doesn't have a story. All you know is that you are a band that starts out as just a garage band and then works there way to the top. You never get any dialogue between the characters, but this really isn't that big of a deal.
Graphics6/10
The graphics in this game are really quite mediocre, but it really doesn't matter a whole lot because you aren't going to be really looking past the long chain of notes that are going down the screen, so you won't really notice.
Framerate10/10
The game never slows down and always runs at a steady pace.
Sound10/10

Last words
This game is an absolute blast and is in my opinion worth the high price tag of $69.99. This is a fun game to play alone but it is an extremely fun game to play when you are with friends, and I have found a lot of my friends, even ones who don't play video games, have had a kick out of this game. You won't be able to put this game down after you start and I definately recommend it.
My Final opinion
Best music game ever!
