Product Review

Pleasing follow-up to debut

Pros:  great songs

Cons:  if you didn't like the first one, you probably won't like this

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

"Recovering the Satellites" is just as good, if not better than the Counting Crows' debut album, "August and Everything After". Their skill as songwriters becomes very obvious with this second release. It has a slightly edgier sound than "August...", showing a bit more anger in songs like "Angels of the Silences" and "Have You Seen Me Lately?". I listened to it almost nonstop for months after I bought it, and never got tired of it.

Some people don't care for Adam Duritz's voice. Personally, I love it, but if you don't like hearing him on the radio, you won't enjoy this album. If you liked their first album, this is definitely worth picking up. If not, you'll probably find it to be more of the same.
