Superb quality at relatively inexpensive price
Date of Review: Jul 22, 2007
The Bottom Line: The amazing deal I got on these headphones (2-for-Tuesday at woot) makes it 100% worth it at this quality and accesories, but the price may not be right for some.
I have to admit, when my dad first got these for me I thought they looked a little corny. I never was really fond of the in-your-ear headphones like these. Something about pushing that piece of plastic inside your head always turned me off. But after using these headphones for some time I am glad I now have these.
I got the white headphones and the iPodish style kinda turned me off and since they were bought off woot.com there was no option for the black ones. But the headphones sound great none the less. The included case comes also with 3 different heads for every ear size and a travel accesory so you can use these headphones on a standard commercial plane. The headphones themselvers are designed to go around your head like the street style over-the-ear headphones, which I personally like (most of the time).
The case is also great if you have an mp3 player small enough to fit in there, like I do. My Samsung K3 snuggles nicely in there, to bad I scratched it all up before using the case. One thing I do love and hate about these headphones is that you can't hear anything when you get them in the right way. The problem is my ears are weird and each is different so usually I can't get one in the right way. But once they fit they can pretty much block out any sound and be used as noise-canceling headphones. Its also a little scary since you can't hear anyone, I mean anyone with these things on. And thats also annoying since you can't turn down the headphones to hear people, you need to actually take them out of your ear.
Quality-wise, the build quality and audio quality are top-notch, especailly at this price. The treble and bass both come through crystal clear and as crisp as ever. When using my Samsung K3 each equalizer setting actually makes a difference in every song. The bass boost really enhances the music on the headphones providing a heavy and clear bass. These headphones make me wish I had a custom equalizer setting because I'd love to listen to my music on these headphones the way I want, but I'll just stick with what I've got now. Although I mainly listen to rock, the treble and bass come in certainly clear, the drums are heard profoundly and since these headphones block out sound they really do make it feel like the music has been brought to you. When listening to rap or jazz the sound quality just makes you desire the music so much even if you don't like the song. I'm not a big follower of jazz but the sample jazz track that came on my mp3 player sounds superb in these headphones that I just listen to it over and over again, the bass really does make a difference in these headphones. I recommend these headphones to most anyone looking for high quality speakers, but if your a little hesitant about the in-your-ear headphones you may not want to get these right way because they do, unfortunetly, hurt after a whiles use.
