4 years/ 100k miles and still a great car

by   angelbischoff ,  Dec 7, 2007
Pros: Great car, looks good, runs good, low maintenance
Cons: Lack of cup holders, premium fuel only
The Bottom Line: Great looking and driving car. Very reliable and lots of fun to drive.
Review: I'm not going to go into the basic details since there are several other posts that already describe the car but since there isn't a review from someone who has owned it & driven it for a while, I thought I'd give a review from the perspective of having ...

Another one from the pals at MITSUBISHI!!!

by   triple_diamond ,  Aug 2, 2002
Pros: More refined and gentle than its second generation predecessor.
Cons: Less of a boy-racer sports car and more of a grown-up grand tourer.
The Bottom Line: Very Refined, Cool, Relible, Polite. Great for young hooligans or middle-aged drivers who want to feel young. Did I mention "Cool-Mitsubishi"?
Review: Okay, so if you haven't noticed, my user name is Triple Diamond. So, yeah. I am a Mitsubishi freak. I am obsessed with Mitsubishi. Oh, well. I hope that doesn't make me too biased.

Okay. The current edition Mitsubishi Eclipse. What's...

Fast fun for Little Money

by   jeramiec ,  Aug 25, 2002
Pros: Fast, fun, good looks, new V6 engine, offers a convertible
Cons: not enough space for rear passengers
The Bottom Line: Good looks and nice handling make the Mitsubishi Eclipse a must have. As a college car or for fun the Eclipse is nice too have.Very safe and nimble.
Review: Just took a 2003 Eclipse V6 to the track and ran high 14's. Not bad at all. Being fast and nimble, Mitsubishi has come a long way. No longer having a turbo has helped keep the car from going to the shop all the time. The Eclipse has two engines...

The Eclipse is NOT the car you knew!...a good thing :)

by   voorheez ,  May 10, 2003
Pros: Very Smooth V6 and ride! Great Infinity Sound System.
Cons: Missing a few "perks" that my Celica GT had...
The Bottom Line: Think again! :) This car has grown up and you are looking for a sports car with a great ride, check it.
Review: Well, after looking and driving every sports car on the market, I made my choice, Eclipse. I was going from my 2000 Celica GT, which I love! But I couldn't ignore current interest rates--time for a new car! :) I honestly can't express how shocked I was...

Eclipse grows up

by   guimauve_usa ,  Aug 18, 2002
Pros: Great looks. Fast. Smooth V6. Very comfortable.
Cons: Not THAT fast!! Huge turning radius. Limited aftermarket parts. Limited rear-view visibility.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a sporty ride, comfortable and refined feeling this is the car for you. If you want an all out performance machine look somewhere else.
Review: The 3rd generation Mitsubishi Eclipse appeals to a lot of people, and turned a number of others off to the brand.

This car is a very refined automobile, especially with the V6. The engine is silky smooth, and so is the ride. The problem is...

3rd Gen Eclipse

by   crabtrp ,  Nov 22, 2002
Pros: Fast. Sportronic transmission. Stylish.
Cons: Turning circle. Rear seating. Pricey
The Bottom Line: A stylish, fast, comfortable car. Highly recommended.
Review: I just purchased a brand new 2003 Eclipse GTS. I looked at the Tiburon and the Acura RSX but ended up with this because of the ride and performance.

I was originally tempted by the current 0-0-0 deal Mitsubishi finance offer. But after reading...

VERY BAD PAINT JOB

by   tinita56 ,  Jul 1, 2006
Pros: Comfortable front seats, looks clean, good stereo system, reliable.
Cons: Bad paint, can't make sharp turns, cramped back seat.
Review: I have a 2003 eclipse GTS in black. I bought it in early 2005 and a year later the paint is fading in 4 different large spots on the top and trunk of the car. I have had a pretty good experience with it other than that but I am annoyed that I am going ...

A Little Better

by   BrianCam , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Sep 7, 2002
Pros: Spunky V6 in GTS, Adequate Handling w/o harsh highway ride
Cons: Cramped back seat, Can Get Pricey w/ options
The Bottom Line: With plenty of great choices in the sporty coupe segment, the Eclipse neither wows nor disappoints. V6 with a 5-speed turns a snoozer into a pocket rocket.
Review: I’ve always liked American cars, the bigger the better. My first car was a 1964 Buick Skylark with a 300 cid V8 and glass packs to make sure everyone knew I was coming. Then something curious happened in the 1980s. While I was driving my 20-year-old...

If you can't wait for the new 2006 Eclipse..

by   shoplmart , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Jan 17, 2003
Pros: Good highway manners, Unique design.
Cons: Price, Still could use more power.
The Bottom Line: The Eclipse GTS does have it's downfalls, however its unruffled attitude should be very appealing to many consumers.
Review: Until the 2000 model year (when this car was reinvented) I was an avid fan of Mitsubishi's little pocket rocket known as "Eclipse." The pre 2000 Eclipses might have been more harsh on the road, smaller, and required more skill to drive, though they ...

My Eclipse is fading!!!

by   flabiker ,  Aug 21, 2003
Pros: V-6, purchase price compared to Toyota or Honda
Cons: quality, lousy paint, cheap plastics
The Bottom Line: The V-6 is nice, but the build quality is like a Kia.
Review: I have had 5 Mitsubishi cars and can attest to their usual reliability. Each one has been dependable ...
