Blackberry Curve is a great phone-Who needs the iphone?

Date of Review: Aug 12, 2009

The Bottom Line:  A good purchase for e-mail, twitter, and facebook. Calendaring is a problem and surfing the net is not always perfect.
I originally went to my local Cingular store to purchase an iphone. I wanted to obtain a phone with the ability to access my e-mail, blackberry, twitter accounts and a calendar function. My plan did not allow me to buy the iphone with a reduced rate because of the contract date. So, I reluctantly looked at the blackberry, which was a lot cheaper. After looking at it in the store, I decided I would try it for 30 days, which was their return policy. Once I got it home and was able to play with it for awhile, I was happy with its functionality. I use it daily for facebook, e-mail and twitter. The only problems come in with its web browsing capabilities. The sites are not mini-screen shots of the web pages like on the iphone. There are hyper links everywhere and some pages won't come though at all. You cannot view Shutterfly picture albums or any for that matter. I can only save a small amount of pictures taken on my phone so I end up deleting quite a few. I like the flash on the camera and am told the iphone doesn't have one. I actually like the fact that there is not a touch screen. My husband got the Storm and it is difficult to use.

The Blackberry Curve is a great value and has easy to use applications.
Cons
The Curve does not allow for easy web navigation and flash will not install.
