This Berry is ripe for the picking..

The RIM BlackBerry 8700c Smartphone is a superb SmartPhone for the businessperson that is constantly on the go or for that supervisor that is deep in the field. This phone lacks a few items that we will talk later but the pro’s out weigh the con’s.

Rugged: This phone can take a licking and can keep on ticking. I have dropped the phone in the holder and out and it still functions as normal. On some phones, the letters and numbers will rub off after a period of time; not this phone. I have had this phone for a few years now and the keys look the same as they did the first day of operation.

Usability: While this phone doesn’t have expandable memory like newer models, it doesn’t need it. The purpose of a SmartPhone is to provide you with tools to make you smarter while on the go not to play the latest downloadable game. It can play games but that is not the purpose. The scroll button is a little sensitive especially if you have a twitchy thumb but you get used to it quickly.

Applications: Wow, where to begin. There are tons of applications out there for Blackberry Smartphones; many of which are free. Many of which are perfect for the traveling salesperson or that contractor that needs to see a map of the local area.

Battery: If you purchase a new one then you should be ok but if you get a used one then you probably need to replace the battery. If I sit in a conference call for more than a hour and a half the battery basically is completely drained.
