Awful sound "quality"

I hesitate to use the word "quality" when describing the sound since it is as far from quality as it can be. It has static just three feet away, the microphone picks up EVERY sound in the room and magnifies it (I can't move or type while on the phone for the noise it picks up...but that's the reason to get this phone is so you can do other things while on it...everything picked up by the mic is also sent to my earphone so I hear myself and everything going on in it also,) and finally, the party on the other end sounds like they're yelling from the end of a 100ft long aluminum can. Very tinny, high-pitched only, not much volume. Think old 1960's AM radio playing a news recording from 1929.

I have a generic $9 corded headset from Target that plugs into the 2.5mm jack on my regular cordless, and its sound quality is great. But it has that cord that gets in my way while trying to type, mouse, etc around the office. And of course if I forget and move too far, I pull the phone off the desk and onto the floor, thus yanking the cord out of the phone too. Not a good business move...but that beats the silly out of this $120+ phone. I just wish I could find a wireless headset that works with home/office landlines that's not $250+. This RCA is absolutely, unequivocally not it.

If this phone were free, I wouldn't use it.
