Great price...but that's all that's great!

I really had high hopes for buying the RCA noise canceling headphones, as they were on sale for $19.99, however the noise canceling ability is hardly effective.

They will will reduce noise from very low sources of noise, but will not remove background noise from a radio, people talking or other sounds. They will reduce the sound of a Refrigerator, or the sound of an air conditioner in a vehicle and a little bit of road noise, but that's about it!

I suppose they may be effective at reducing the sound in the range of 300 to 450hz as they state on the box, and this may be the predominate frequency on an airplane, but I didn't buy them to just reduce noise on an airplane trip.

The music quality is just acceptable. The unit reduces the output from your music device in both volume level and bass level. You are better off leaving the device in the 'off' position because the sound quality is better with it off and the offensive sounds that you are hoping the headphones will remove don't go away anyhow.
