Not the best choice for an office setting
Date of Review: Dec 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: Do some more research and find a different Radio/CD/MP3 which works and works well.
This attractive looking and well intended Radio and CD player may not be what you are looking for.
The good side. It is affordable at $50 regular price or $40 on sale. There are settings of Rock, Jazz, Pop, and Classic for various styles of play. There are 12 AM and 20 FM Channel presets. At home the radio portion plays and with good sound. There is even an auxilary jack in the front for another device to be connected.
The not so good side. In an office setting, I am not able to get any FM stations to come in. I was able to get one AM station. The cd has a loading noise which does a background whirling scratching type of woosh, which most cd players have but with this model that background noise continues. I thought maybe I was being a little too fussy but another employee came in and said that would drive them nuts. If you turn the volume up loud enough you cant hear the cd spinning, but in an office setting the level at 10 of 32 is maybe even too loud.
The potential. The box was designed with everything I was looking for. Sound equalizer settings, bass boost, cd player, and most important the MP3 player. Unfortunately the reception is poor in the office and the whirling noise is not tolerable.
After a couple of days of hoping the whirling sound would go away, this player is going to be returned.
