Avoid this phone like the plague!

This phone is a poor performer on so many levels that it is hard to begin this review. Normally I'd like to note pros as well as cons in a review, but there is just so much that is wrong with this phone.

Yes, the phone is attractive. GE calls it the "thinnest" DECT cordless phone ever. If it functioned properly, that would be a plus. Regrettably, it does not. Allow me to elaborate.

VOICE QUALITY
There is enough background noise on incoming calls to make deciphering the words a chore on some long-distance calls. There is absolutely no reason for this level of noise in a modern phone. Voices sound thin and shrill, both using the handset and the speakerphone.

EASE Of USE
Amazingly, this 3-handset phone will NOT allow copying of memorized phone numbers across all 3 phones. You have to manually program EACH HANDSET. Of course, what this means is you will hardly ever have the same directory on all 3 of your phones.

Also amazingly, there is NO BATTERY INDICATOR on the display, You really have no idea how much charge is left until the handset dies, probably in the middle of a call.

And the final straw.....this phone WILL bring down your wireless network with EVERY incoming or outgoing call. I've tried changing wireless channels on my network....no change. And of course there is no way to change channels on this phone. For this reason alone, this equipment is going back to the store.

This phone is pretty. Nice blue backlighting. Blue LCD display. Thin handsets. But don't be fooled by cosmetics (as I was). This is a VERY BAD phone and there are many far superior offerings. I have since replaced this thing with a Panasonic KXTG1034S....a MUCH BETTER phone.
