Similar experience with RCA start up

Pros:  Very good picture, as was the case with other RCA's over the years

Cons:  Intermittent diffuse sound dispersion requiring turning up the volume during random broadcasts

Our 32" RCA is about two years old and two nights ago it simply would not power up. Two calls to different repair shops gave estimates of $185 and $250 to fix. I have a 19" Sony in my garage. I bought it 23 years ago. It still works despite my dropping it once a distance of 30" roughly. It landed on its screen, but when I picked it up and plugged it in, it was fine as if nothing happened.
