Quizas? Maybe? No..definitely!
Date of Review: Nov 26, 2002
The Bottom Line: "Quizas" is an album that is definitely worth listening to. The listener can hear the emotion and work that Enrique put into writing and recording this album.
The latest release from Enrique Iglesias is entitled "Quizas." This is Enrique's first completely Spanish album since his English albums "Enrique" and "Escape." The 11 track CD includes a variety of songs, including ballads and some upbeat tunes.
The first track is "Tres Palabras" which is a slower, romantic song. It has a lot of guitar throughout it. It is one of my favorites on the album.
"Para Que La Vida" is another ballad. The lyrics are about a lost love - you can feel the emotion in the lyrics. I really like this song.
"La Chica de Ayer" is a re-make of a popular Spanish song. It's upbeat and fun to listen to.
"Mentiroso" is another slow song in which the emotional content is very apparent.
"Quizas," the title track, seems to come from deep inside Enrique. This song can make the listener cry (and has made this listener do just that before!)
"Pienso en Ti" is another favorite of mine from the album. It begins slow, then the chorus is upbeat. I like the contrast within the same song.
"Marta" is a medium paced song. The music and mixing is really good on this song.
"Sueltame las piendas" is pretty good. This is another medium paced song. It doesn't stand out on the album as much as some of the other songs.
"Mamacita" is a faster paced song. It's not really a dance song, but it does make you want to get up and move!
"Mentiroso (Mariachi Version)" - a different mix of the song.
"No Apagues la luz" is the Spanish version of "Don't Turn Off the Lights" which many of you are probably familiar with in English. The same Spanish version is on Enrique's English album "Escape." It's a great song though.
Overall I would say this is a really good album. It was time for another Spanish album from Enrique. He does not let listeners down with his latest release.
