A Better Bet is Dancing to a CD

I love the concept of the Quick Fix workout videos. The concept is simple and straightforward -- designed specifically for people like me... busy working moms without much time to exercise.

Each DVD in the Quick Fix series is broken into 3 separate 10 minute workouts. The workouts can be done individually or combined, but each stands on its own. The workouts begin with a short warm up and end with a short cool down. (Obviously everything needs to be short considering that the whole thing lasts only 10 minutes).

The workout itself is relatively fast paced. The instructor, obviously a very capable dancer, is unfortunately not as capable at giving instruction. Or at least that's how it felt to me. I struggled to keep up with the moves, even after watching it several times. In the end, I gave up trying to follow most of the steps and just danced along with the DVD.

The choreography is much too challenging for a beginner -- especially someone with little or no dance experience. If you are at all clumsy -- forget it. This DVD will make you feel less coordinated than ever.

This DVD may be good for teens, who are more used to the dance moves demonstrated. But I would not recommend it for anyone who is not extremely coordinated and good at picking up dance routines.

There is a bonus 10 minute workout included, so if you were a masochist, you could actually do 40 minutes of dancing. The music is uninspiring.

I own the entire Quick Fix series, but this one is the weakest of the lot and is the only one that I would return if I had the opportunity.
