Author's Review
Fist, let me be honest. The only reason I bought this car stereo is because when I bought my car from a private owner and he removed the stereo system that was installed. My sister is a whole seller and she gave me a list of car stereos and I bought the cheapest one I saw. BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART!
I will start by giving the positive features of this product because my mother always told me if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all (but she didn't tell me truthful flaws could not follow): It has great sound quality. You have a choice of listening to your favorite music with a classical, rock, pop, or modern sound. The single CD player is great if youre driving on a bumpy road because the CD rarely skips. It has a repeat feature which is great if you have your favorite CD in the car and you would like to listen to the album over again. It also comes with a removable face plate with a sleek black storing case which is great if you have to park your car in a "questionable area".
Now here are the flaws: When switching radio stations, you have to use a tunable knob (the type of knob they have on home stereo systems) which makes it difficult to change to your favorite station. This is very dangerous when driving, especially because it is very difficult to see what station you are listening to because the digital face is very hard to view during sunlight hours. To view, you will have to cup your hand above the digital screen to see what station you are listening to. In addition, there is no scan button so you are unable to scan through the radio stations. And dont be surprised if the radio station changes without you touching it (Example: If you are listening to radio station 95.7 FM, the station might change to 95.6 FM, resulting in poor listen quality). Some people might read this and say, "Why doesn't this person just set their radio stations? Well, you know what? You can't. This stereo system does not have this feature. My mother's 1985 Toyota even has a radio set feature! And by all means, don't forget which buttons do what because the indicator signs rub off within weeks. And finally, theres the CD player. If you download music online, dont expect to be able to play the CD in your car. For some reason the CD player does not accept home made CDs.
In conclusion, you don't listen to the radio much, and if you can memorize the button functionality before the symbols wear off, this is the car stereo for you. Otherwise, please don't be cheap like me and read the functionality features before buying ANY product.
