works well for voice

I ordered this July of 2008. I needed extra jacks for my VOIP system in my new house without having to install jacks or use the existing lines. I ordered it from Amazon.com and after I received it I was dismayed to find that the item was for Data only (211-D). It's hard to get any of the online ordering systems to give you the exact model your actually receiving. I hooked it up anyway and found it actually works pretty good with voice, not the greatest quality but neither is my VOIP so it's hard to judge.

What I like about the product is that you can pick up the second extension while on the first without the loss of power to both phones that I experienced with a dedicated wire. It also means I can move the phone around the house. We were able to get the phone off of our kitchen counter. (This made wife happy :-) )

I only had one bad exerience with it for about a week. It seemed to be putting static on the line. I thought it was going bad on me, but then all of a sudden it cleared up. (I was not having trouble directly off the VOIP box)

Another nice feature is that both units have a light to indicate that they have a phone connection. This way you can tell at a glance if the phone is working.
