The Moose Hole - We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes

Date of Review:  May 4, 2006
The Bottom Line: It has all the mannerisms and charm that made Hitchcock one of the greatest filmmakers in motion picture history
Review: Today Psycho stands as a testament to the artistic genius of director Alfred Hitchcock. As simple as Joseph Stefano's screenplay may be, it has risen over the decades to become the quintessential horror film of all time. Few, if any, have matched...

The Most Lovable Rogue I Ever Did Meet

Date of Review:  Feb 7, 2004
The Bottom Line: One of the greats, and still has the capacity to scare even though we all know the plot.
Review: I love Norman Bates. Oh, I know there are the less 'savoury' aspects of his personality, if you will, but how could you not fall for that boyish face, the almost puppylike urge to please, the eagerness the chirpy, friendly conversational tone. And...

A surprisingly great small bit by Anderson

Date of Review:  Apr 15, 2002
The Bottom Line: Psycho is great for Perkin's character and the motel set but also for other reasons that don't concern him or the set.
Review: So much of this film has been discussed the only unique thing I can offer is that the film has a great scene where Marion (beauty Janet Leigh) tries to sell her car while trying to evade a lawman watching from her across the street. I don't quibble...

The craziest Cross Dressing Mama's Boy Ever on Film....

Date of Review:  May 27, 2000
Review: "Pyscho" is indeed a cult classic. It spawned millions and millions of imitations that weren't nearly as good, and it proved the ultimate of Hitchcock's genius.

Marion Crane(Janet Leigh) is in a hotel room with her boyfriend after a quick...

Beautifully directed!

Date of Review:  May 29, 2002
The Bottom Line: There is no better horror film. Only Silence of the Lambs can compete with this.
Review: I am partial to Psycho I admit it. I am a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock, but Psycho stands out as true gem, and one of his best movies. I'm not a big fan of horror films, but where most of them fall short, Psycho is superb. It's not gory at all...

A Masterpiece

Date of Review:  Mar 30, 2001
The Bottom Line: great film for average movie fans and a great textbook to study for aspiring directors / actors
Review: Alfred Hitchcock referred to 'Psycho' as his best comedy film because he was able to play around with the expectations of the audience - and not only come up with a artistic piece of work but also a box office success.

I believe most of us...

Hitchcock at his absolute best

Date of Review:  Oct 14, 2004
The Bottom Line: Hitchcock's best film, and one of the best horror movies ever made.
Review: This is the movie that set the standard for horror films and makes most of them pale in comparison. Hitchcock set out to make his audience scream and succeeded beyond his wildest expectations; I saw "Psycho" when it was first released and the...

Ultimate in terror

Date of Review:  Oct 18, 2005
The Bottom Line: One of the absolute best horror films Hitchcock made!
Review: When I first saw this movie, I was just beginning my teens. I wasn't prepared for it, but neither were many others. I had heard of Hitchcock from his TV series, and knew he was quite the director. So I like many, was anxious to see, Psycho.

The Best Film Ever Made

Date of Review:  Apr 14, 2009
The Bottom Line: Recommended because I consider it to be the best film of all time.
Review: This review will spoil all but the ending.

The original Psycho from 1960 tells the story of a girl named Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) who wishes to marry her boyfriend Sam (John Gavin), yet she has no money. She then decides to steal $40,000...
