The 200-Watt digital hybrid amplifier driven ProMedia 2.1 incorporates a convenient headphone jack as well as a miniplug input that makes it compatible with gaming consoles and most portable audio devices"
This is indeed a very well built speaker system for multimedia, the set-up I have here are combination of 2 set of the same and identical model (Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 PC multimedia speaker system). This make mine more unique as I have a "4.2" set no instead of the usual 4.1, since I have 2 separate control for the volumn, I put the each on the sub in each of my room corner, then I buoght some better wire built for speaker/audio and connect to the sattelite and also the source, the installation wis easy if you have basic knowledge in speaker installation, since I "modify" the cable, I guess I have just voided the warranty. but then, a speaker at this kind of price does not suppose to get killed that easy right? The sub-woofer are a very huge box painted in black and the amplifier are built integrated. Not to mentioned, it is heavy. You will need some space allocating them as they doesnot fit behind the cupboard. FYI, the sub are as big as a 17" TFT LCD screen. Since this speaker doesnot have digital input, it will take in analog stereo in, and playback at an amplified sounds of 200w RMS! 2 of them are enuf to shake the whole room. With just 1 unit, you will get a deep bass, and average mid-range with a clear sound of high range!
With 2 of these, I tune the bass level to 1/3, then 1/2 of the main volume, the sound is alredi so loud that even I cant stand for a very long period due to the size of my small room. I tested the speaker with this setup, Creative SB Audigy, WinDVD (4 Channel Out), playing back with my collections: "Saying Private Ryan, Tomd Raider and etc", the sound field created are just too good to be says with words. The bass are deep, the sound is crisp enought.Mbr>Nbr>
My setup cost: 2 * $236 = $472
