This movie is soooooooo good! The way the writers portray Son and Ashitaka is brilliant. I love how there are sub plots because they make the movie even more interesting. I didn't mind the violence that much because, well, I don't know why, I guess it's because you get so wrapped up in the plot that you don't pay much attention to it. The animation is great too. The movie is about saving a forest, but there is so much more to it. It seems more realistic that "Fern Gully" because of the Japanese history intertwined in the story. My favorite characters besides Ashitaka and Son are the women of Iron Village. They take the audience's mind off the gore and make them laugh with their sarcasm and hilarious remarks. This movie is one that you wanna see over and over and over. Don't let the fact that it's animated fool you, it is best for mature audiences.
