Anne Hathaway is Disney's #1 Princess!

My daughter and I have been waiting for months for the opening of this movie. So when I noticed that it was on the same date as her physical at the doctor's, I jumped on Fandango at bought tickets for the two of us for the 11:55 a.m. showing.

We were not disappointed. Anne Hathaway as Princess Mia was the same sweet and strong young women that we all fell in love with in The Princess Diaries, just now she's 21 and graduated from college.

As I said, Mia has graduated and is now on her way back to Genovia where she is to become queen. (Her grandmother is stepping down from the throne now that Mia is of age.) Only problem is this: there is an ancient law that says that a queen must be married to take the throne. (Yet a king may be a bachelor!) So Mia must marry within thirty days or relinquish her crown to the son of a cousin of royalty, Lord Nicholas. The queen is furious, but has no choice but to tell Mia the unfortunate truth. A marriage in thirty days or no crown.

After choosing a fiance' from England, a sleepover/bridal shower is thrown with princess from around the globe attending. Here is where we get a real treat. The Queen, Grandmother Clarice (Julie Andrews) sings along with Raven (originaly from the Cosby Show.) Being that Julie Andrews hasn't sang on the big screen in quite a while, it was nice to hear her and took me back to her "Sound Of Music" days.

I don't want to give away the ending, let's just say that every Mom in the movie theater was beaming when they came out and every little girl wanted to be Mia. This particular Disney Princess is the cream above the crop when it comes to being role model for little girls, and Anne Hathaway should be very proud of her latest work.
