Works fine, Doesn't last

My second Presto kettle in under 3 years just burned out, and I replaced it with Cuisinart. The Cuisinart cost $69, and based on a friend's experience, will be cheaper in the long run than the Presto at $20.
On the other hand, as a first tea kettle, the Presto is a good way to decide if you will use it enough to justify it's counter space (I did).
