Great Popcorn!
Date of Review: Feb 5, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you like light airy popcorn, try this method of popping.
Well, popcorn has always been my "filler food" to eat when im hungry, but I have always been less than happy with the stovetop method. I dont like microwave popcorn, its not very good. The main thing I didnt like about the stovetop popcorn is you have to use oil, which is where most of the calories come from when you pop it that way. The second thing I dont like is you have to stand there and shake the pot the entire time the corn is popping, which is kinda annoying. This popper is so easy to use and a little cool to watch too. You simply but a half-cup of popcorn into the popping chamber (which is right below the lid) and plug it in. In about two minutes, you have a big bowl of popcorn. The popcorn is light and airy and it really puffs up big. It also pops up completely flavorless, for the most part, which I like, because the only thing I like on my popcorn is a little bit of salt which this popcorn takes very well. On the stove popcorn, the taste of the oil constatly overtook the salt causing me to add more and more. The last thing I love about my change to this machine is its so easy to clean. The oil poppper had to be cleaned all the time and it was hard and annoying. You can make about ten bowls of popcorn in this machine before you need to clean it, and when you do, you just have to wipe down with a cloth. I highly recommend this machine!
