The Bottom Line: Look elsewhere for a quality fryer!
I wanted a fryer and this was on sale. It's easy to use and operate (but no on/off switch)but it's just as messy as frying stove top.
My fryer spits grease out the top even with the lid closed. I don't think the seal is strong enough and I have to wipe down my counters and the unit itself after every use.
It does fry well and you can fit a decent amount of food in it. It has a "viewing window" on the lid but it's useless because you can't see anything through it.
I like that it has a safety devise on the basket so you have to press a button to release it into the oil. This can save you from getting burned because you can't drop the basket in. However, when you set the basket to rest and remove excess oil after frying the bottom is sitting in oil! And I very carefully made sure I did not over fill my fryer with grease. I have to place my cookie cooling rack over paper towels and let my food rest there.
Overall It's a cheap fryer with below average results. You get what you pay for. Next time I'll spend more for something nicer!
