Author's Review
This is a book written by Bodie Thoene and researched by her husband, Brock Thoene. This writting team has written over forty books and as far as I know will probably write more. They have been published by Bethany, Nelson and currently Penguin-Putnam. The most recent one is their first with a secular publishing company.
I would classify their work as Christian literature. They have several book series dealing with Israel. Here they are in publication order. Zion Covenant, Zion Chronicles, and their latest Zion Legacy.
Prague Counterpoint is the second book of the Zion Chronicles. It of course leads off from the first book "Vienna Prelude." In that novel Elisa Lindheim helped others escape pre-world war two, Austria, thereby risking her own life. She is now in safe for now Chzechoslavakia. She soon here others cry for help. She feels she must answer their cries.
Specifically without giving too much of the plot away, her best woman friend, Leah, through quirky circumstances becomes the unofficial guardian of twin five year old boys. Both boys are German. To the Nazi's officially Aryan. They each have blonde hair, blue eyes, regular features except one boy has a cleft palate. He constantly hides it with a scarf. Because of this deformity, no fault of his own, the National Socialist government wants him destroyed. It is Leah's goal to save both of them. The very real problem she is Jewish herself. By trying to save them she puts herself in danger. She shows true courage.
There's also much romance with most of the main characters in and out of passionate romantic conflict with very appealing people for all of them.
